Project Description:
Consolidated Edison’s (Con Ed) headquarters is comprised of a series of four buildings built of steel and masonry with a limestone and brick exterior. PULLMAN was originally contracted to perform masonry repairs related to a Local Law 11 inspection. The scope of work consisted of including patching, pinning, sock anchoring, dutchman repairs, pointing, stone replacement, cleaning, crack repairs, cast iron stabilization, and repairs to steel reinforcement. Repairs were performed by various access means, including suspended scaffolding, mast climbers, system scaffolding, and rope access. The east facade cornice, parapet walls, and roof required a concentrated effort to address corroding steel, cracked masonry, and waterproofing. The project was driven by the focus on safety and quality, along with open communication and collaboration by the project team.
